Church Thoughts - Like Shower Thoughts, but At Church

The truth requires you to put up a fight with it, and the longer the fight goes on and the more you increase your ferocity against it, you realize that the fight is not against the truth, but against yourself.

It seems the roles of men and women in the church are expected to be like a man and a woman driving in a car, with the man as the driver and the woman the front seat passenger. The man may be driving, but the woman has just as much a right to choose where to go as the man, and both are directly accountable to each other for any problems which may arise given the destinations where they end up because of personal or relational decisions made in the car.

The great calm that comes with eternal symbols is that you can simply look at them for what they are without needing to wonder what they could be or what might be hidden within them.

It's not the question, "If it doesn't make you happy, then why are you doing it?" It's the statement of fact that, "If it doesn't make you happy, you're not going to keep doing it."
