My wife and I were going for a walk along a riverside path. We decided to go down to the bank so the two dogs we were walking could get in the water and cool off a little. There, I saw a flat rock with shallow water above it, so I went to step on it to cool my feet. I immediately slipped into the river and got soaked from the waist down, phone in pocket and all.
My phone wouldn't charge, after this event. The screen and everything else worked, but it wouldn't charge, even after I left it in rice for many hours. I took it to a specialist who said that they didn't have any way to fix my phone since it required parts they didn't have, and they confirmed that it wouldn't charge with any of the charging cords they had.
I thought I might need a new phone, which was a problem because we couldn't afford to buy a new phone, nor could we afford to get one on credit. So, my wife and I said a prayer asking Heavenly Father to help us out. Immediately after the prayer, I had the thought that I should put my phone in the freezer until I felt impressed to take it out. My wife was about to stop me because she was worried that if there were any water molecules still present in the phone, they would expand and cause irreversible damage. She didn't, though. She let me do what I felt impressed to do, and as soon as I took it out of the freezer, my phone started charging when I plugged it in. It still charges perfectly well, today.
This morning, we couldn't find my cat. My cat is an indoor only cat, and we live on a main road, which has constant traffic all day and all night. Naturally, my mind fears the worst: he was hit by a car, and they tossed his carcass off to the side of the road. I refused to panic, so I calmly walked around our house and yard calling for him, but heard and saw nothing.
I'm away from the house, now, and my dad just called telling me that my cat just walked into the house after scratching at the door. What makes this special is that, after being gone all morning with no sign of where my cat might be, my dad had just finished praying that he would come home. He did after the prayer, and is safe.
Prayer works.
