A Good Dad

This is a list of things I felt impressed to write while I was in the hospital the day my son was born. I know I'll need to be reminded of these things throughout my time as a father, so I thought it might help someone else who feels the same:

• A good dad doesn't make money then take the rest of the day off
• A good dad helps cultivate his children's talents, and helps them discover new interests to expand their personality and wisdom
• A good dad helps and encourages his children to find who they truly are, and helps them grow confidence in their identities
• A good dad seeks to understand the needs of his children's mother, and always puts her needs first
• A good dad brings children into this world to replenish the Earth and learn how to find happiness in this life, everyday
• A good dad does all of these things for himself in order to know, through personal testimony, how to help his children learn them using first-hand experience
• A good dad knows to Whom he, his children's mother, and his children belong, and never acts above that absolute Authority
